12th Bells University Convocation: Jamodu Receives Honorary Doctorate Degree

Bells University of Technology, Ota has conferred the immediate Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council, Chief (Dr.) Kolawole Babalola Jamodu, CFR, OFR, D.Sc, Chairman for Nutricima Limited and Chairman at Nigerian Breweries Plc Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) for his immense contributions to the socio-economic development in Nigeria today, Saturday April 10, 2021 at the 12th Convocation ceremony of the institution.

The conferment which took place at the University Convocation Ground witnessed many dignitaries , parents of graduating students from all walks of life including Rev. (Dr.) Wilson A. Badejo President & Chairman, Board of Trustees, Bells University.

In his acceptance speech, Jamodu encouraged the students to always work hard and be determined in their pursuit of purpose. “Today, as I accept this honour, I want to encourage our young ones and university students that hard work and determination pays. Let your certificate not replace the place of hard work and determination”

He also paid tribute to the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo for his contribution towards the development of the university and the nation at large.

Also speaking, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Jeremiah Ojediran, Bells University of Technology Ota, in his speech noted that this year mark his fifth Convocation speech as the third Vice- Chancellor of the great University. According to him, it also marks the end of the first term of this administration.

VC said holding the event in April is one of the fallout of Covid-19 outbreak, which call for need to be each other keeper and protector.

Meanwhile, Alimi Gbemisola Aishat, the overall best graduating student for 2019/2020 academic session with an outstanding CGPA of 4.95 out of 5 and winner of Vice-Chancellor’s Prize, Regency Alliance Insurance Plc Prize, BEST Graduating student in the College (Faculty) of Management Sciences, Best in Economics, Accounting and Finance expressed her gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and other senior staff of the institution.
