The Ogun State Chapter of the Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement (GHSM), under the leadership of Hon. Gbenga Idowu, has formally endorsed the presidential agenda of Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing him as “the most credible, unifying, and visionary alternative for Nigeria.”
Addressing journalists during a press conference held in Ota, Ogun State, Hon. Idowu announced that after “extensive consultations, reflections, and honest evaluation of the current state of our nation,” members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, under the GHSM platform, reached a unanimous resolution to back Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim’s presidential aspiration.
“Our country is passing through one of the most difficult periods in its history. The economy is shrinking, insecurity is spreading, and hope is fading,” Hon. Idowu stated.
“The government of President Bola Tinubu has not only failed Nigerians, it has failed even the South-West that gave him overwhelming support in 2023. It was right here in Ogun State that President Tinubu declared ‘Emilokan,’ and yes, God permitted it. But today, with the benefit of experience, we stand here to say, ‘Baba, e ti ja wa kule.’ By the grace of God, in 2027, Gbenga ni o má gbe wa ga.”

Hon. Idowu described Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as one of the founding fathers of the PDP, a principled leader who understands the ideological roots that built the party on justice, inclusivity, and national unity.
“Gbenga Hashim is not coming to extract from the PDP; he is coming to lead the PDP, to restore its values and reawaken the hope of Nigerians,” he added.
The movement emphasized that Dr. Olawepo-Hashim represents a bridge between the North and the South, noting his deep family roots in the South-West and his long-standing national credentials.
Highlighting his economic vision, Hon. Idowu said Gbenga Hashim has presented “the most ambitious economic agenda in modern Nigerian politics”, with a detailed plan to grow the nation’s economy to $4 trillion, expand industrial capacity, reform the energy sector, empower small businesses, and attract investments that create jobs and prosperity.
On national security, the group praised his comprehensive, multi-level strategy integrating national defense, intelligence coordination, and community-based policing, describing it as “the kind of clarity and preparedness Nigeria desperately needs.”
“The endorsement of Gbenga Hashim in Ogun State is not about sentiment; it is about competence, capacity, and conviction,” Hon. Idowu affirmed.
“It is about restoring hope to millions of Nigerians who still believe our nation can rise again.”
The Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement called on all PDP members nationwide—and Nigerians at large—to unite behind Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim’s vision for a new era of unity, stability, and prosperity.
“In Gbenga Hashim, we see a leader not seeking power for privilege, but power for purpose to rebuild, to unite, and to restore the greatness of Nigeria,” Hon. Idowu concluded.
