Ogundimu, Justice Forum Endorse APC Candidates

In a strategic engagement with party faithful and stakeholders, Hon. Sule Enimakure Akindele Sakiru reaffirmed the importance of unity and collective responsibility within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as preparations intensify for the forthcoming elections.

The gathering received a major boost as Emeritus Hon. Dr. Oluyinka Ogundimu, alongside other leaders of the Justice Forum, formally endorsed all APC candidates from the state level to the national level, demonstrating what organisers described as unwavering commitment to the party’s success.

Speaking during the session, Hon. Ogundimu emphasised that the APC in Agege remains “one united family” and urged members to work together in harmony for the overall victory of the party. He stressed that unity, loyalty and dedication are essential ingredients for achieving electoral success.

He further charged all party members and supporters to embark on aggressive grassroots mobilisation within their respective homes, streets, zones and wards, noting that every member has a role to play in ensuring massive voter turnout and overwhelming victory for the APC across Agege and beyond.

The gathering concluded with renewed determination among party leaders and members to strengthen the party’s structures at the grassroots level and work collectively towards delivering resounding victories for all APC candidates at the polls.

‘Constituency 02 Is on My Mind’

In a separate message, Hon. Sule Enimakure Akindele Sakiru framed his vision for Agege Constituency II around listening, inclusion and practical representation.

“Agege Constituency II is more than a place on the map; it is a community filled with hardworking people, families, youths, artisans, traders, professionals and leaders whose aspirations deserve to be heard. Every day, the hopes and concerns of our people remain at the centre of our thoughts. Constituency 02 is on my mind.”

He said leadership begins with listening  understanding the realities of the people, identifying challenges within the constituency and working towards practical solutions that improve everyday life.

“Our youths deserve opportunities to grow, our artisans and small-business owners deserve support, our women deserve greater economic opportunities, and every community deserves effective representation. These aspirations require a voice that remains connected to the people and committed to engaging with them.”

Describing his candidacy as “a new chapter for Agege Constituency II,” Enimakure said the journey is about bringing the people closer to governance and ensuring their voices remain part of the conversation.

“As we look towards a better tomorrow, the message remains clear: the people must remain at the heart of governance. With unity, participation and a shared vision for progress, Agege Constituency II can continue to move forward.”

Enimakure Appreciation Message

On behalf of the Enimakure Campaign Council, organisers extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the Independence Day Celebration held in honour of His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Special recognition was given to distinguished leaders and guests, including Hon. Kayode Opeifa, Hon. Oluyinka Ogundimu, Hon. Babatunde Adejare, Hon. Taofeeq Adaranijo, Hon. Abdulkareem Ayodeji Jibril, Hon. Wale Ahmed, Hon. Olaide Olaade (Okadigbo), Hon. Temidayo Adeyemi, Hon. Adeniyi Jafojo, Hon. Yinka Babalola, Hon. Kabir and Hon. Saadu, for gracing the occasion with their presence and support.

The council equally acknowledged the royal support of His Royal Majesty, Oba Akeem Ambali Agbedeyi, Alaigbe of Orile-Agege; His Royal Majesty, Oba Lateef Egbeyemi, Ologba of Ogba Land; and His Royal Majesty, Oba Matthew Gbolahan Ogundimu, whose presence, organisers said, brought dignity and distinction to the celebration.

Gratitude was also extended to Christian and Muslim religious leaders, CAN, Imams, Isese practitioners, traditional rulers, members of the Council of Chiefs, Baales, community leaders and other traditional institutions for identifying with the event.

The council recognised APC leaders and members at the national, state, local government and ward levels, as well as party members, supporters, friends and well-wishers both at home and abroad. Special mention went to media practitioners and security personnel whose professionalism and dedication contributed to a peaceful and orderly celebration.

Also acknowledged were the various groups and communities that participated, including artisans, the Arewa community, Igbo community, Nupe community and Ebira community, alongside every individual, organisation and volunteer who played a role in making the celebration colourful, peaceful and meaningful.

“The success of the occasion was a reflection of the cooperation, unity and goodwill of all who attended or supported it. We remain deeply grateful for your presence and contribution.”

Why It Matters

The Agege/Orile-Agege celebration illustrates how independence anniversaries are increasingly doubling as platforms for community cohesion and political engagement in Lagos’s grassroots politics. The presence of traditional rulers, interfaith leaders and diverse ethnic communities  Arewa, Igbo, Nupe and Ebira  signals an effort to frame the APC’s local messaging around inclusion rather than exclusivity.

The attendance of Hon. Enimakure’s immediate royal family, Baales from New Oko-Oba and Ikola Odunsi Kingdom, chiefs from Ota Aworiland and traditional worshippers further underscores the depth of his traditional and community networks  a factor that could prove decisive in constituency-level mobilisation.

The endorsement by the Justice Forum and the emphasis on grassroots mobilisation also point to intensifying preparations within the party as election season approaches. For Hon. Enimakure, the celebration served as both a homecoming and a platform to articulate a constituency-focused agenda centred on youth opportunity, support for artisans and small businesses, and women’s economic empowerment.

Whether that message translates into electoral traction in Agege Constituency II will depend, ultimately, on the strength of the party’s grassroots structures and the resonance of its promise that “the people must remain at the heart of governance.”
