Agric: Hon. Onwuaso trains 500 constituents


Hon. Sam Chinedu Onwuaso (PHF Mkponani Awka) the Honourable Member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the National Assembly Abuja in his painstaking and unwavering commitment in keeping to the social contract he entered with his Constituents during his electioneering campaign and in  aligning with the United Nations 2030 Agenda of eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty has facilitated the batch by batch training of a cumulative number of over 500 youth, men and women drawn across the wards that make up his Federal Constituency on mordenised practice of agriculture and other related activities.

Recall that Nigeria has exceeded India with the largest rate of people living in extreme poverty to emerge the poverty capital of the world, Thus, Hon. Sam Onwuaso identified that Investing in the agricultural sectors by increasing small -scale farmers’ productivity and income; diversifying farmers’ income through value chain development; and creating more and better jobs for the rural poor is the key to eradicating poverty, hunger and malnutrition and an indispensable requirement for sustainable development particularly in rural areas.

While Speaking to the participants at the training session in Awka, He stressed that “the underlying goal behind the breathtaking, visionary and innovative  Agricultural training which was structured in batches is to inculcate contemporary mechanism, skills and knowledge transfer to the participants in other to boost Agricultural  activities, create a self employed, self sustaining and self dependent youths in his Federal Constituency”.

Hon. Onwuaso assured his Constituents that he is passionately committed to improving market infrastructure, roads, solar powered lights, storage and warehousing capacity, rural and wholesale markets,  irrigation and drainage, technologies and capacity development that will

enhance the employability and entrepreneurial capacity of his Constituents.
