Be Wary of 5th Columnists:- Gov Dapo Abiodun

Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has called for a single-minded approach in the ranks of party leaders and stakeholders towards ensuring that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu picks the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential ticket in the 2023 elections.

Governor Abiodun gave the admonition in his welcome address while receiving a delegation of the South West Agenda (SWAGA) Initiative in his office Monday afternoon.

He pointedly drew the attention of the delegation to the trend of political fifth columnists, who are always desperate to play spoiler roles, on the promptings of anti South-west interests. He warned that such elements would always come up with their nefarious scheming, warning that all eyes  be trained on such elements within and outside the party, so at to effectively neutralize them early in the day.

The Governor expressed his full subscription to the ideals of ensuring power shifts to the Southwest in 2023, assuring that he would do all in his powers to work with all stakeholders towards attainment of the set objectives.

Speaking earlier at the occasion, Chairman of the SWAGA delegation, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, thanked Gov. Abiodun for finding time to personally receive the delegation in spite of the short notification.

He expressed optimism that the vision of the SWAGA team shall enjoy every encouragement and support of the Governor, being an astute team player himself. He assured the Governor of the readiness of the SWAGA team to avail itself of the benefits of the Governor’s wisdom, goodwill and counselling at all times.

The official launch of the Ogun State chapter of SWAGA is scheduled to hold at Conference Hotel, Abeokuta on 23rd February, 2021.
