FALLEN FUEL TANKER AT SURULERE: POLICE DEPLOY PERSONNEL, CORDON OFF SCENE

Following a lone minor motor accident involving a Mack Truck with Reg. No. LAGOS 961 XJ laden with 33, 000 PMS at about 0400hrs of today, police officers from the Surulere Divisional Headquarters were mobilized to the scene at Stadium Bus Stop along Funsho Williams Avenue, Surulere.

The DPO, CSP Adebayo Adeoya, instantly called Fire Service, LASTMA, and LASEMA officials who responded swiftly. The police patrol teams deployed to the scene immediately cordoned off the place while providing adequate protection for the Firefighters and others. The scene was neutralized.

Concerted efforts are ongoing to trans load the remaining fuel and evacuate the fallen tanker. Meanwhile, the police are still maintaining their presence at the scene to protect lives and property and prevent hoodlums from scooping the fuel.
