The Institute of Criminology and Strategic Studies (ICSS), established under Act 1 of 1999, for crime prevention, crime control, and peace studies in Africa organized a-day workshop on criminology, security, and peacebuilding

Dr. S.A. Adekunle, FCSS, Registrar General, Institute of Criminology and Strategic Studies during an interview with journalists said “We organized a workshop to enlightened the general public, it is a continuous exercise, we are doing this for the nation because everyone is tired of killing, maiming, kidnapping, terrorism, banditry and all sort of insecurity in Nigeria. It is high time we go through the grassroots, unity of this country is sycophant.”

The Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Security, and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, Assistant Superintendent of Corps I ( ASCI ) Abolurin Oluwaseun Olumide M A, FCSS, Amb., on Saturday, 18th September 2021, received the Fellowship Award and Security Ambassadorial award of the Fellow Institute of Criminology and Strategic Studies of Nigeria, at a workshop on criminology, security and peace held by the institute at Ikeja Lagos.

The Public Relations Officer was graciously selected and invited by the Institute to receive the double honor of Fellowship and Security Ambassadorial Award, workshop, and conferment of awards event. The institute honored five members at the event today with the Security Ambassadorial award, whilst the (PRO) received double awards at the workshop.

The Public Relations Officer presented a paper on the topic: ‘Community and Public relations veritable tools inefficient intelligence gathering in the Nigerian security system,’ at the workshop and conferment of awards.

The Public Relations Officer seized the opportunity of the workshop and conferment of awards to sincerely, appreciate the Almighty God for this great privilege. He also thanked the Chairman – in – council of the Institute, the Former Commandant – General Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, CG John Adewale Abolurin Rtd, Ph.D., psc (+), OFR most profoundly for his unbeatable leadership qualities, the Registrar – General Dr. S Aderemi Adekunle and the entire Management and Board of the institute, for selecting him as suitable for the double awards.

Abolurin Oluwaseun Olumide who also appreciate the Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Commandant Eweka Edenabu Douglas Okoro, for his laudable support, dedicated the award to God and his family. He further avowed his unflinching commitment to ensuring that the image of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, in Lagos State Command and beyond will continue to be well managed under his supervision.
