The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa in conjunction with Nigeria Diaspora Voting Council (NDVC) set to hold a Virtual Conference for Nigerians on Nigeria Diaspora Voting.
The Council has been a major stakeholder in the advocacy for all-inclusive Electoral Reform.
This will ensure Nigerians in the Diaspora whose contributions to the country’s Gross Domestic Product-GDP is between second and fourth position are allowed to be part of the decision makers on who governs them on electoral deliverables.
It will be recalled that NDVC’s leadership through its council has done creditably well in the advocacy to ensure those domiciled outside the country have a say on who becomes what among political office seekers. The proposed vConference is expected to highlight the trajectory of the advocacy so far – the journey, the milestones as well as the future.
The conference will present all issues and concerns and no less all what the public should know about the Nigeria Diaspora Voting bill.
The council notes that it is a must-attend conference that seeks to welcome contributions from other various Diaspora groups. The town hall meeting presents a ‘Where-We-Are’ update with a ‘Here-We-Go’ consensus at the end of the virtual rendezvous. It is an all-important conference that individuals cannot afford to miss. Enough of standing aloof. This, the Diaspora community has done for over 2 decades of our growing democracy. If other smaller African countries can, Nigeria should.
