The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced the commencement of physical and credential screening for applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables.
The screening exercise is scheduled to take place nationwide from March 9 to April 18, 2026, across designated centres in all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to the Commission, all candidates who successfully completed the online registration are required to log in to the official recruitment portal to check their application status and print necessary documents ahead of their scheduled screening date.
Applicants are expected to present the following documents at their respective screening venues: the Guarantors Form, Application Submission Slip, Invitation Slip, Credentials Screening Form, and Physical Screening Form.
In addition, candidates must come along with key credentials, including their National Identity Number (NIN) slip or card issued by NIMC, O’ Level certificates (GCE/SSCE), birth certificate or age declaration, and certificate of origin.
Specialist applicants are also required to provide relevant trade test certificates.
The Commission further stated that all credentials must be arranged in both original and duplicate copies, neatly packaged in separate white flat files, with recent passport photographs attached. A duly completed Guarantors Form, accompanied by referees’ passport photographs and photocopies, is also mandatory.
Applicants are to appear at the screening venues dressed in white T-shirts, white shorts, white canvas shoes, and white stockings, as specified in the guidelines.
The PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), mni, emphasized that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge and will be conducted with full transparency and accountability.
He cautioned applicants against engaging with fraudsters or unauthorized individuals seeking financial gratification, warning that offenders will be apprehended and prosecuted.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to a credible and merit-based recruitment process for the Nigeria Police Force.
