The Ogun State-owned Security Outfit known as Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested a brute suspect who stole from a hotel where he lodged in Ogun.

This is contained in a press release issued from the Office of the State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander, Moruf Yusuf said that at about 1:00hrs on Friday 6th January 2023, Mr. Muhammad Abubakar, a 24-year-old and resident of Oloko Area in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area was arrested for stealing electronic devices and other valuable items in the hotel room where he lodged at Keke Hotel, Iyana Iyesi, Ota in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area.

Ganzallo revealed that immediately after the Corps got the information that one of the customers in the hotel is behaving otherwise, the Corps Special Team in the newly created Ilogbo Area Command of the Corps under ACC Idris Odukunle swung into action and the Mupin Division of the Corps saddled with the assignment to get the culprit arrested and the Deputy of the Command CSC Yusuf Samuel was asked to work with the team.

Ganzallo said that the officers headed to the Keke Hotel at Iyana Iyesi in Ota and at the hotel, the team gathered that the suspect came together with a lady, identity not known at about 11:00 pm on 5th January 2023 to book a room.

Ganzallo noted that the lady after some hours reportedly moved towards the main entrance of the hotel, but was stopped by the hotel attendant and was asked to turn back and return to the room she lodged with her man friend. Still, to their surprise, Abubakar had loosened electronic devices which includes CCTV cables, Ceiling fans, and other valuable items in the room.

Ganzallo also said that he instructed that the culprit be arrested to face the wrath of the law, and on the team’s arrival at the hotel, he scattered and damaged two of the hotel rooms.

The suspect resisted arrest and resulted to bite off the finger of one of the officers of the Corps.

The suspect and the exhibit recovered from him had been transferred to the Nigeria Police, Onipanu Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
