The All-Share Index increased by +0.61% to close at 38,808.01 from 38,571.89 index points.

The Nigerian Stock Exchange market made a recovery at the end of the trading session. The All-Share Index increased by +0.61% to close at 38,808.01 from 38,571.89 index points. CHAMS made the top position on the Gainers list.

Nigerian Stock Exchange market value currently stands at NGN 20.32 trillion. Its Year-to-Date (YTD) returns currently stands at -3.63%.The market closed in loss as it saw more downturns, CHAMS led 21 Gainers, and JAPAULGOLD topped the 12 Losers chart with a noticeable bullish movement by the NSE ASI.

Analysis: The NSE ASI saw a bullish recovery from the previous day loss. Predictions of the dominance of consumer goods were affirmed with the presence of GUINNESS and PZ in the top 5 Gainers list.

However, the following stocks remain on our watchlist: Zenith Bank Plc, Guaranty, Access bank, STANBIC, JAPAULGOLD, GUINNESS and Flour Mills.

Products Equity: A total turnover of 1.263 billion shares worth N10.759 billion in 19,975 deals were traded this week by investors on the floor of the Exchange, in contrast to a total of 887.037 million shares valued at N9.193 billion that exchanged hands last week in 17,837 deals.

The Financial Services Industry (measured by volume) led the activity chart with 853.125 million shares valued at N6.754 billion traded in 11,127 deals; thus contributing 67.56% and 62.78% to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively. The Conglomerates Industry followed with 103.226 million shares worth N704.563 million in 954 deals. The third place was Oil and Gas Industry, with a turnover of 89.472 million shares worth N353.533 million in 1,479 deals.

Trading in the top three equities namely Fidelity Bank Plc, FBN Holdings Plc and Access Bank Plc (measured by volume) accounted for 390.775 million shares worth N2.021 billion in 3,241 deals, contributing 30.94% and 18.78% to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.

INDEX MOVEMENT: The NSE All-Share Index and Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.15% and 0.12% to close the week at 38,808.01 and N20.310 trillion respectively. All other indices finished lower with the exception of NSE Premium, NSE Lotus II, NSE Industrial and NSE Sovereign Bond Index which appreciated by 0.65%, 0.09%, 0.95%, and 0.17% while the NSE ASeM and NSE Growth Indices closed flat.

eTranzact Plc: Listing of Additional Shares (Rights Issue of 4,666,666,667 Ordinary Shares of 50 Kobo Each at N1.50 Kobo Per Share) 2,434,566,483 ordinary shares of eTranzact Plc (the Company) were listed on the Daily Official List of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (the Exchange) on Monday, 12 April 2021.

The additional shares listed on the Exchange arose from the Company’s Rights Issue of 4,666,666,667 ordinary shares of 50 kobo each at N1.50 Kobo per share on the basis of ten (10) new ordinary shares for every nine (9) ordinary shares held as at Wednesday, 25 March 2020. The Rights Issue was 52.17% subscribed.

With this listing of the additional 2,434,566,483 ordinary shares, the total issued and fully paid up shares of eTranzact Plc has now increased from 4,200,000,000 to 6,634,566,483 ordinary shares of 50 kobo each.
