Discrete investigation in Lagos and Abuja reveals that the banks have been accepting old naira notes deposits in all their experience centres across the country and also dispensing the 3 new denominations accordingly.
United Bank for Africa announced in the first week of January that Nigerians can now get the new Naira notes at its Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) across the country.
In a message to its customers, the financial institution stressed that the withdrawal limit via this channel is N100,000.
“We are happy to inform you that the newly redesigned naira notes are now available at all UBA ATMs nationwide.
“Please note that the maximum daily cash withdrawal limit for these notes at our ATMs is N100,000,” a part of the message from UBA obtained by this newspaper disclosed.
UBA has actually loaded its ATMs with the new Naira notes during a visit to its Experience center in Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
A few customers who spoke with Razornewsng expressed excitement over the commitment of the bank.
One of them, Uzonna Ike said: “UBA is always leading in everything. I started collecting new notes from their ATM’s since the first week of January.”
Another, Justin Dibie said: “At Transcorp UBA experience centre, I deposited my old notes on a Sunday and their ATM paid me the 3 denominations.”
