UK-Based Woman Regains Ability To Walk After Year-Long Paralysis, Shares Testimony at Zion Ministry

By Rashidat Olushola Okunlade

A middle-aged woman based in the United Kingdom, Christine Chika Anyanwu, has shared a remarkable account of how she regained the use of her legs after being paralysed for about one year.

Anyanwu gave the testimony during the weekly Adoration programme at Zion Prayer Movement Outreach in Okota, Lagos, on Wednesday.

According to her, the ordeal began on March 26, 2025, when she suddenly collapsed at her workplace in London and lost consciousness. Following medical examinations, she was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).

She disclosed that she spent four months receiving treatment in the hospital before she was discharged to continue her recovery at home. However, her condition worsened as she experienced repeated falls and seizures, which reportedly led to damage to her spine.

As a result, Anyanwu became confined to a wheelchair for about a year. She said several medical specialists she consulted in the United Kingdom informed her that the likelihood of her walking again was extremely slim.

Recounting her emotional struggle, she said she had almost lost hope but eventually decided to follow her mother’s advice to seek spiritual intervention at Zion Prayer Movement Outreach in Lagos.

Despite discouragement from some family members and a Catholic nun who advised her not to visit the ministry, and against medical advice warning her about undertaking a long-distance journey in her condition, Anyanwu travelled to Nigeria in search of healing.

During the Adoration programme, the Spiritual Director of the ministry, Evangelist Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi, noticed her on a mobility scooter and prayed for her during a deliverance session.

Moments later, the congregation erupted in excitement as Anyanwu, who had reportedly not stood or walked for about a year, rose from the scooter and began to walk.

She later returned to the altar to share her testimony, while some of the individuals who had initially discouraged her from visiting the ministry, including her siblings and the nun, joined in celebrating what she described as her healing.
