The children, families of Pa. Adepoju Adekunle, Oyekale, and members of Estate Baptist Church Abesan Estate have laid late Mrs. Elizabeth Adunola Iyabode Adekunle (Nee Oyekale) to rest on Friday, July 22, 2022.

The funeral rite, wake keep/ lying-in-state commenced on Thursday, 21 July 2022 at her residence with a lot of people who spoke about the deceased as someone who served God wholeheartedly with full energy for evangelism together with good character.

Brief History About The Deceased: Late Mrs. Elizabeth Adunola Iyabode Adekunle (Nee Oyekale) hails from Ikolaba Aladan compound, Isale Laka-Ogbomosho, Oyo State. She was born over seventy years ago at Babanlomo, Ifelodun LGA of Kwara State as the first child in the family of Pa and Mrs. Moses Oyekale Oyedokun of blessed memory. She attended community primary school Babalomo after which she followed her father to Ogbomosho to learn handiwork (Knitting).

Mama first live with her granny, late mama Asabi Ogbo of Onisemo compound, Ogbomosho before her father relocated her to Ikolaba Aladan compound Ogbomosho where she lived with her uncle Pa Oladayo Aremu Oyedokun also of blessed memory.

Furthermore, at Ogbomosho, she attended Laka Baptist Church where she was an active choir member and later got married to her husband Pa. Adepoju Adekunle of Aba compound, Abogunde Area, Ogbomosho in the year 1970. After their wedding at Laka Baptist Church, she relocated to Lagos state to join her husband in trading. She engaged in various legal business activities in addition to her earlier knitting work to support her husband.

Moreover, Late Mrs. Elizabeth Adunola Iyabode Adekunle (Nee Oyekale) Christian life was encouraging, the family worshiped at Asabi Baptist Church Odi-Olowo Mushin, She later served at First Baptist Church, Ishefun-Ayobo Lagos with honorary plaque and recognition.

Until she died, the family worshiped at Estate Baptist Church Abesan Estate Ipaja Lagos where she was engaged in various missionary activities. She served God to the best of her ability while her prayer life was inspiring, she matched her Christian life with her character. Not only this, she placed her entire family matters in very high esteem with sincerity of purpose.

She is survived by her husband, children grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and family members.

The Church Pastor, Rev. Emmanuel Oluleye in his sermon during the funeral service at Estate Baptist Church Abesan Estate Ipaja Lagos emphasized Late Mrs. Elizabeth Adunola Iyabode Adekunle’s character and dedication to church activities. He said: “Mama finished well, you that remain in this world should check where you are lacking behind and amend your ways before the trumpet sound.”

Mr. Muyiwa Charles Adekunle in his speech during the wake keep/lying-in-state said his mother died peacefully, it was an experience of someone who served God wholeheartedly. “My mother is an embodiment of good character that every home deserves” he stated.

In attendance at the funeral service was Rev. Rotimi Ogunbiyi Mission and Outreach Pastor, Bro. Muyiwa Opatoyinbo Church Secretary, Rev. Emmanuel Oluleye, Engr. John Olaniran Akangbe among others.
