Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos has convicted popular Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye alias Bobrisky, over mutilation of the Naira.
The court convicted Bobrisky following his guilty plea to a criminal charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.Bobrisky had earlier pleaded guilty to the four charges of Naira Abuse. The court kicked out the fifth and sixth counts charges bordering on money laundering.
The court, however, reserved sentence until April 9, 2024, and ordered that he be remanded in custody of the EFCC till then.
