CIBN To Partner NYSC Lagos For Corps Member’s Capacity Development

Chartered Institute for Bankers of Nigeria has made its intention known to collaborate with the National Youth Service Corps in Lagos State to develop the capacity of corps members in the State.

This intent was brought by the Institute to the attention of the State Coordinator NYSC Lagos today at the State Secretariat, Surulere.

Speaking during the visit of the Institute to the State Secretariat, Registrar /Chief Executive of CIBN, Mr. Akin Morakinyo, extolled the scheme as a galvanizing point for the youths in the nation.

Morakinyo said the motive of the Institute’s visit to the Secretariat is the future. According to him, the youths are the future and the Institute aims to be part of the future by investing in it. He said ‘the motive driving us is that the youths are the future. We want to forge collaboration with NYSC in Lagos, to ensure the youths participate in our initiatives and our empowerment program.’

In response, State Coordinator NYSC Lagos, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, appreciated the Institute for its hatched initiative to empower the youths. She said one of the reasons we have angry youths is because they felt left out in issues concerning them. She said the initiative of the Institute will be an addition to the programs of the scheme to engage corps members.

She assured the Institute of maximum cooperation in the pursuance of corps members’ empowerment in the State. Both parties will now discuss modalities of partnership.
