Funeral Plans Unveiled For Late Ondo Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu

The burial arrangements and schedule for the late former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, have been revealed.
Akeredolu, who passed away on December 27, 2023, after battling protracted prostate cancer, is set to be laid to rest in his hometown of Owo on February 23, according to information obtained by ROTA MEDIA.

The funeral activities kick off on February 15 with a crusade in the capital city, Akure, followed by a Jumat service on February 16. On February 19, a valedictory service and tributes by the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) are scheduled in Ibadan. Additionally, a service of the song will take place at All Saints Church, Jericho, and Jacob and Grace Chapel simultaneously at 4:00 p.m. on the same day.

A commendation service is planned for February 20 at 10 a.m. at All Saints Church, Jericho, along with a lying-in-state at his residence in Jericho, Ibadan. On February 21, a program is set for Akure starting at 10 a.m., followed by a service of song at St. Andrews Church in Owo on February 22.

The funeral service is scheduled for February 23 at St. Andrews Church in Owo, with a reception at Mydas Hotel. Thanksgiving will conclude the series of events on February 25.

A member of the State Executive Council (SEC) and an anonymous member of the planning committee confirmed the funeral arrangements, emphasizing that preparations are well underway for a dignified burial ceremony.
