LAPO Microfinance Bank, a premium microfinance institution in Africa has honoured 597 staff for their commitment and dedication at the recent meritorious and long service award ceremony.
The institution rewarded 597 staff across the branches, and 67 Staff/Branches were given awards from other subsidiaries in the EcoSystem. Each awardee received certificate of recognition, an award plaque, and financial reward.
LAPO Microfinance Bank, an off-shoot of the Lift Above Poverty (LAPO) Organization, a poverty-focused Non-Governmental Organization. It was initiated in the late 1980s in response to the fall out of the implementation of the Structural Adjustment Program (SAP).
The bank provides financial and social empowerment services to members of low-income households which have the highest number of female customers.

LAPO Microfinance Bank’s annual meritorious and long-service awards express appreciation to employees who have been with the institution for a significant amount of time while contributing to its growth.

Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe, Founder LAPO Microfinance Bank in his speech at the ceremony,  noted that the institution had gathered in line with its tradition to congratulate its staff who had been found worthy and who had also put in their best, commitment to the financial institution.

He congratulated the staff for holding forth in the system while noting concern about the career progression of the staff and exemplified it by ensuring that staff who had distinguished themselves creditably moved up on the ladder in the workplace.

LAPO Founder noted that the Management team was so proud of this crop of staff who had sustained the traditions for which LAPO Group stood.

He particularly poured encomiums on the awardees and Management team for sustaining the annual ceremony of honouring staff who, had done their best and remained loyal to the course of the bank.

He thanked God for his abiding love, mercy, and grace upon all staff and for the awardees in particular, praying that God would continue to keep them strong in their endeavours for the institution.

He explained that the reward usually takes place by the institution’s extant rules as contained in the Staff Handbook for the various categories, noting that despite the economic situation in the country, LAPO MfB had continued to live up to expectations. He said the award was a symbol of hard work, loyalty, and dedication to service which was instituted to appreciate the efforts of the staff that contributed to the growth of the bank.

He acknowledged that the workplace environment is a good place to work, and make friends since one spends greater part of his or her days in the environment while reminding the awardees to continue to put in more effort.

The ceremony witnessed the citation of all the awardees and presentation of commemorative plaques to them which took great cognisance of their dedication and service to the bank.

This meritorious and long service award is a common phenomenon for LAPO MfB and a way of saying “thank you” for its team’s hard work and commitment while motivating its staff to greater heights and celebrating loyalty and commitment from the get-go.

The financial institution recognises and appreciates the commitment of its exceptional team members at the LAPO Staff Meritorious and Long Service Award Ceremony.

It was a celebration of dedication and excellence, where LAPO MfB acknowledged those who have spent remarkable years rendering exceptional service to the bank and staff who have shown utmost dedication on the job.
