NSE President Heads TETFund High-Impact Project Committee, Pledges Support for Engineering Education Reform

The President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, has reaffirmed the commitment of the engineering community to the successful execution of the Federal Government’s high-impact intervention projects across selected universities.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Evaluation and Implementation Committee for the Special High Impact Intervention Project of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in Abuja, Engr. Rabiu, who chairs the committee, described the assignment as a significant national responsibility and a demonstration of trust in the expertise of the committee members and their institutions.

He commended TETFund for entrusting the committee with the responsibility of advancing strategic investments aimed at strengthening engineering and technology faculties in federal universities of technology, as well as selected conventional universities.

Rabiu noted that the initiative aligns with the NSE’s longstanding advocacy for a more practical, industry-oriented, and innovation-driven engineering education system in Nigeria.

He further emphasized that the intervention marks a crucial step toward equipping institutions with modern infrastructure and tools required to produce globally competitive engineers.

The NSE President assured stakeholders of the committee’s commitment to a transparent, collaborative, and diligent process in evaluating and implementing the projects, expressing confidence that the programme would significantly transform engineering education across Nigeria’s federal universities.
