Odun OmoOlowu-Ibogun 2025: A Royal Homecoming of Heritage, Unity, and Tradition

All roads will majestically lead to Olú Ibogun Balogun Palace on Thursday, October 23, 2025, as the ancient town of Ibogun Balogun plays host to an event of immense cultural significance — Odun OmoOlowu-Ibogun 2025.
This year’s celebration holds special resonance as royal fathers, indigenes, and guests will be welcome with honour and joy, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Sakariyau Adelola Matemilola, the Olowu of Òwu Kingdom, in what promises to be a grand occasion of heritage, unity, and the reaffirmation of age-old traditions.
Ibogun Balogun Town under tutelage and custodian of tradition, HRM, Oba (Dr.) Adesina Fakayode Faluade, Anikinnikun, Olu of Ibogun Balogun will host Gbalefa and other six community on October, 23, 2025.
The event, scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m., is not only a symbolic return to ancestral roots but also a reflection of the enduring ties between the people of Ibogun and the larger Òwu Kingdom. Odun OmoOlowu serves as an enduring reminder of their shared legacy, communal strength, and unwavering cultural pride.
HRM, Oba (Dr.) Adesina Fakayode Faluade, Anikinnikun, Olu of Ibogun Balogun, in his royal statement, stated that:
“This is more than a festival — it is a reaffirmation of our heritage and a celebration of unity among the sons and daughters of Owu, both at home and in the diaspora. We are honoured to welcome the Olowu of Owu, a beacon of wisdom, tradition, and progress.”
The general public is cordially invited to witness this historic convergence of royal grace and cultural splendor. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and dress in traditional Yoruba attire to honour the significance of the event.
