Oba Musiliu Afolabi Olipede Marks 42 Years of Odun Ifa with Grand Alaragbo Festival in Lagos

Traditional heritage and cultural pride will take centre stage in Abule Egba as His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Musiliu Afolabi Olipede, celebrates the 42nd anniversary of the revered Odun Ifa alongside the vibrant Alaragbo Festival.

The landmark cultural event, scheduled for April 2, 2026, is expected to draw dignitaries, traditional worshippers, cultural enthusiasts, and residents from across Lagos and beyond. The celebration underscores the enduring significance of Ifa tradition in Yoruba spirituality and its role in preserving indigenous identity.

According to information made available to the public, the event will commence promptly at 10:00 a.m. and will be held at 23rd, Lewis Avenue, General Bus Stop, Abule Egba, Lagos.

The festival will feature colourful displays of traditional regalia, including appearances by revered cultural masquerades such as Ariyayo, Omolere, and Agbomola, symbolizing ancestral reverence and community unity.

Participants have been encouraged to adhere to the designated dress code of white and peach, reflecting purity and cultural harmony synonymous with the Ifa tradition.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, popular musician is billed to entertain guests, bringing a blend of indigenous rhythms and contemporary sounds to the celebration.

The Odun Ifa festival remains one of the most significant annual events in Yoruba culture, serving as a platform for spiritual reflection, cultural preservation, and communal bonding.
