Primate Ayodele Warns Nigerians On Insecurity, Says “Nobody Will Protect You”

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned Nigerians not to rely on government or traditional institutions for protection amid worsening insecurity across the country.

Speaking on Sunday at the international headquarters of his church in Lagos, the cleric alleged that Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps have become breeding grounds for terrorists and should be scrapped by the government.

Ayodele further claimed that terrorism in Nigeria was politically motivated, alleging that some politicians were responsible for creating and sponsoring terrorist groups for selfish interests.

According to him, this is one of the major reasons successive governments have found it difficult to decisively confront insecurity in the country.

He also referenced controversial Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi, questioning why he had not been arrested despite some of his public comments and engagements with bandits.

“Government should scrap IDP camps. It is a sitting place for terrorists,” Ayodele said.

“Politicians encouraged terrorism for their selfish ends, and that is why every government is afraid to fight terrorists because they know their secrets.”

The cleric urged Nigerians, churches, and communities to develop self-protection mechanisms, insisting that citizens were largely on their own.

He criticized traditional rulers, accusing them of abandoning cultural responsibilities and becoming politically compromised.

“No king will fight for you. What they want is Rolls-Royce. Our kings are dollarized,” he stated.

Ayodele also issued fresh security warnings, alleging that Ogun and Osun states could face terrorist attacks, while cautioning that terrorists were also strategizing to infiltrate Lagos State.

He advised schools in Ogun State to strengthen security measures, stressing that “to be forewarned is to be forearmed.”

The cleric further lamented the continuous killing of Nigerian soldiers and questioned the effectiveness of the country’s security leadership.

He warned that persistent insecurity and public frustration could eventually trigger mass revolt against the government.
