He expressed strong confidence in Disu’s ability to excel in his new role, noting his proven leadership capacity and distinguished service record across various assignments.

“I congratulate Mr. Olatunji Disu on his appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police. His emergence as the nation’s number one police officer is a great honour to Lagos State,” Sanwo-Olu said.

He further highlighted Disu’s extensive experience within the police force, including his notable tenure as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership.

The governor added that Disu’s wealth of experience across multiple commands, formations, and departments positions him well to meet national expectations.

“I am confident that he will deploy his vast experience to strengthen policing in Nigeria and deliver a force that is competent, accountable, transparent, courageous, and trustworthy,” the governor stated.
