Born on November 11, 1910, he died at the age of 114 years and was laid to rest on the same day at his residence amid eulogies and prayers.


Alhaji Sulaimon Fehintola Akanbi Olapite (Sarumi Adinni of Iju Central Mosque) was a merchandise and a notable farmer who sold cocoa, beans, kola nuts, and other farm produce during his lifetime.
Many talked about the good character prowess of Late Alhaji Sulaimon Fehintola Akanbi Olapite (Sarumi Adinni of Iju Central Mosque) while speaking to Journalists in preparation for holding the prayer event.
According to his son, Mr. Taofeek Olapite, “Family meeting has been set up to give our father of noble character a befitting burial ceremony which I’m also a member of.
“The entire family of Olapite has put heads together to organize a befitting burial arrangement on Saturday, November 9th, 2024.
“We will give more details on the planned event as soon as all arrangements are concluded. We are fully in touch with the family members.”
Recall that Journalists had earlier met the sister of the deceased who said the late Sarumi Adinni of Iju Central Mosque was the one who made her stay in her marriage till now.


The entourage, including Baale, other Chiefs, and Islamic Clerics, attended the 8th day of Fidau and the 41-day prayer arrangement as many spoke well of the deceased.
The town people recall how Baba bought electricity and pipe born water to the town; in their remarks, they said, “Sarumi Adinni scored several firsts in infrastructural developments with a subsequent visit to governor’s office during the tenure of Olusegun Osoba as the governor of Ogun State cannot be forgotten in Arobieye town.
Speaking with newsmen after the event, Children of the deceased Deaconess Ololade Ige and Alhaja Taibat Ogidan, among others, said, “We are here to give Glory to Almighty Allah for giving him many years on earth. No matter how long you stay on earth, you don’t want to lose your loved ones, especially people that had been tremendous and outstanding in our environment.
“But to have lived for 114 years, we believe the Almighty Allah had been gracious to him. And he was not a father who had to be carried from one hospital to another, he was called up to Almighty Allah and that is the testimonial that he had lived a good life and he had been at peace with humankind and also with his creator the way he left us peaceful and that reflects what Alhaji Sulaimon Fehintola Akanbi Olapite had been to each and every one of us.
“Growing up, I remember how industrious and loving he was as an elderly man in Arobieye town; the quality, what he stood for, and what he had done still stands in the community like social amenities.

“His tenacity, his human kindness, his love for everyone, his genuine empathy, his resolve to ensure that the community people get whatever that is coming from the government are the testimonials that we all still remember today and are very fresh.
“Alhaji Olapite scored high with all sense of humility that indeed he has been a builder of our time, a man that laid the foundation of his environment that all of us are attempting and are trying to develop and put layers on and his existence cannot be easily quantifiable.
“We can only take solace in the fact that he had lived a good life, he had been a very decent man, he had been a very humble man and he had reflected what true humanity is all about. It is a source of inspiration to all of us; it is a clarion call for all of us that are in a position of leadership now to think and reflect on how also would be remembered after our time.”
