SIFAX Foundation Equips Lagos Students with Future-Ready Tech Skills

SIFAX Foundation has trained no fewer than 90 students in Lagos State in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology skills, as part of its ongoing community development and youth empowerment initiatives.
The training, held at Iganmu Senior Secondary School, Orile Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), is part of the foundation’s Community Connections Campaign aimed at equipping young Nigerians with practical, future-ready skills.
The programme focused on building students’ capacity in key areas such as computer literacy, machine learning, and the application of artificial intelligence. It is designed to enhance their academic performance, improve employability prospects, and support long-term self-reliance.
Participants were drawn from different classes within the school, with the expectation that they will cascade the knowledge acquired to their peers, thereby multiplying the impact of the initiative.
Speaking on the initiative, the Executive Coordinator of the foundation, Mrs. Foluke Adekoya, said the programme is part of broader efforts to tackle youth unemployment and bridge the skills gap in Nigeria.
“This initiative is one of our strategic responses to the growing need for relevant digital skills among young people. Beyond benefiting the students directly, it is expected to positively impact the wider community, as participants apply these skills to improve their lives and contribute to economic development,” she said.
On behalf of the school management, the Vice Principal, Mrs. Sherifat Ajala, commended the foundation and its sponsor, SIFAX Group, for the impactful intervention.
“We sincerely appreciate SIFAX Foundation and its partners for this opportunity given to our students. The knowledge and exposure they have gained will go a long way in shaping their future. We pray for continued success and growth for the organisation,” she stated.
Two outstanding participants, Goodluck Innocent and Moses Faith, were recognised for their active participation during the training. They expressed gratitude to the foundation for providing them with valuable digital skills that will enhance their future career opportunities.
As part of its support, the foundation donated educational equipment to the school, including a projector, laptop, and projection screen to facilitate continued digital learning.
SIFAX Foundation noted that several other schools across Lagos and beyond have benefited from similar interventions, bringing the total number of students impacted by its programmes to nearly 900.
The initiative underscores the foundation’s commitment to empowering young Nigerians with the skills required to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven global economy.
