AfricanBritish Charity NGO Partner Nigerian Red Cross Society, Holds 13th Annual Youth Leadership Retreat

In its mission to give back to the society, AfricanBritish Charity NGO has partnered Nigerian Red Cross Society at the 13th annual youth leadership retreat.

The 13th Annual Youth Leadership Retreat By Nigerian Red Cross Society, Lagos State Chapter held on Saturday, September 28 2024 8:00 am – 11:00 am at Lagos Palm Beach Resort, Lekki Lagos State.

This year 2024 marks 13th Annual Youth Leadership Retreat of Nigerian Red Cross Society, Lagos Youth Wing, initiated the Annual Youth Leadership Retreat in 2009 to create a network of civic-minded young leaders dedicated to the theme “Youth Inclusion Through Volunteering.” We believe that young people can and should serve as positive change agents in society. Consequently, we work with young individuals who serve as community reformers, artists, environmentalists, volunteers for civic initiatives, and those who have demonstrated a strong interest in developing leadership skills and a commitment to community service.

The dynamic voluntary organizations joined hands to lead in the satisfaction of humanitarian needs and promoting human dignity of the most vulnerable.

Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) has the mission, in Nigeria, to “provide mainly, appropriate and acceptable humanitarian services to the most vulnerable groups through well managed programmes in Health Care and Disaster Management”, and the vision to become the most “dynamic voluntary Organizaon that leads in the satisfaction of humanitarian needs, and promote human dignity of the most vulnerable groups”.

Furthermore, the program focuses on students because they possess the right mixture of maturity and impressionability. Students are old enough to understand the challenges they face as young adults in a developing country and can be readily inspired and motivated to become change agents. Instilling these skills and values at a young age provides an ample opportunity to work towards the positive change we desire to see in Nigeria.
