Mr Ebenezer Oluwofose has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of FirstBank of Nigeria Limited, the flagship subsidiary of FBN Holdings Plc. 

He takes over from Mr Tunde Hassan-Odukale, who retired after completing his 12-year tenure as a Non-Executive Director in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Corporate Governance Guidelines.

 

Until his appointment, Mr Ebenezer Oluwofose was a Non-Executive Director with First Bank of Nigeria Limited since April 29, 2021.

 

He is the Group Managing Director of First Ally Capital Limited, an investment banking firm based in Lagos, and has over 36 years of experience working in the financial services industry.

 

Before joining the First Bank board, he was Executive Director at Access Bank Plc and Citibank Nigeria, where he led Citigroup’s origination, structuring and execution of corporate finance and investment banking transactions in Nigeria.

 

He started his banking career at the NAL Merchant Bank Plc (NAL) in 1985 and graduated with first-class honours in economics from the University of Lagos.

 

Ebenezer holds an M.A. in International Economics from the University of Sussex, England, and is an Alumnus of Harvard Business School and Lagos Business School.

 

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration and the Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers.
