The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited, Adeleye Falade, has commended the Rivers State Police Command for its sustained efforts in protecting critical national assets and ensuring security around the company’s operations.
Falade described the Command as professional, disciplined, and steadfast in maintaining safety across Rivers State. He gave the commendation while receiving the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, and his team during a courtesy visit to NLNG’s Corporate Head Office in Port Harcourt on Monday.
During the engagement, Falade acknowledged the police’s critical role in safeguarding NLNG’s operations, particularly the ongoing Train 7 project and the strategic Bonny–Bodo Road corridor. He noted that the Command’s proactive approach to protecting lives, property, and infrastructure has been instrumental to operational stability.
He further emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration between NLNG and security agencies ahead of the anticipated commissioning of the Bonny–Bodo Road. According to him, the project will significantly improve access to Bonny Island, opening up new economic opportunities while also introducing fresh security considerations.
“With increased access to Bonny Island, we need a broader conversation on how to preserve the safety of our people and assets. As long as our operations remain secure and uninterrupted, the benefits will continue to extend across the state and the nation,” Falade stated.
In his response, Adepoju reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to deepening its partnership with NLNG, describing the company as a strategic asset to both Rivers State and Nigeria’s economy. He assured that the police remain prepared to address security concerns promptly through established operational frameworks.
“NLNG remains a pride of Rivers State and a key pillar of Nigeria’s economy. Our teams are ready to act promptly on any security concerns, with systems in place for rapid response,” he said.
Also present at the meeting was the Deputy Managing Director of NLNG, Olakunle Osobu, alongside other members of the company’s management team.
