FUPRE Energy Business School Opens Batch 5 Admissions For PGD, Master’s, Doctorate Programmes – 2026/2027 Session

The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), through its Energy Business School (FUPRE-EBS), has commenced applications for the 2026/2027 academic session Batch 5 into its interdisciplinary postgraduate programmes in petroleum and energy studies.

The school offers professional Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s, and Doctorate degrees designed to build workforce capacity, sharpen professional talents, and equip candidates with managerial skills and analytical tools for Nigeria’s energy sector, Africa’s oil and gas industry, and the global power market.

According to an official announcement signed by the university’s Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Jane E. Omoyine, applications opened on April 6, 2026, and will close on July 31, 2026.

Programmes and Fees

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) – 9 months

Total fees: ₦3.5 million (or $3,500 for international students)

Master’s Programmes – 5 modules (12 months)

Total fees: ₦5 million (or $5,000 for international students)

Doctorate Programmes – 8 modules (24 months)

Total fees: ₦8 million (or $8,000 for international students)

Note: For Master’s and Doctorate programmes, each module contains two courses with two to four theses and two to four facilitators. Seminar fees will be determined separately.

Programmes Offered

Doctorate Degrees: Doctor of Sustainable Energy and Management (DSEM), Doctor of Energy Economics and Management (DEEM), Doctor of Petroleum Economics and Management (DPEM)

Master’s Degrees: Master of Sustainable Energy and Management (MSEM), Master of Energy Economics and Management (MEEM), Master of Petroleum Economics and Management (MPEM)

Postgraduate Diploma: Post Graduate Diploma in Petroleum and Energy Studies (PGD-PES)

Admission Requirements

PGD: Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit, or a Third-Class degree (no industry experience required).

Master’s: PGD with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division.

Doctorate: Master’s degree in Petroleum and Energy Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

All Nigerian citizens must possess NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificates.

Principal Facilitator

The programme’s lead facilitator is Professor Emeritus Wumi Iledare, who serves as Executive Vice Chairman of the Petronet Africa Network of Petroleum & Energy Experts (PANof PEE).

Note: Earlier information regarding a separate ₦25,000 application fee and ₦100,000 acceptance fee was not repeated in the main university release for Batch 5. Prospective applicants are advised to confirm all fee structures directly from the official FUPRE-EBS portal before applying.

The Acting Director of FUPRE-EBS, Dr. Benjamin Akinloye, also confirmed the August/September 2026 commencement date for classes.
