NCC, CIBN collaborate to enhance banking settlement, communication services

In furtherance of his vision on collaboration, the EVC/CEO NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida received a top delegation from the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) to explore opportunities of strengthening the collaboration between the Institute and the commission for enhanced communications in the banking industry.
The visit was premised on strengthening the long-time relationship between the two entities, with emphasis on crucial areas such as, interbank settlement, enhancing communications support services, among other issues.

This part of the EVC’s vision of fostering cooperation between the NCC and financial institutions and was held at the NCC headquarters, focused on enhancing the collaboration of the professional body and the telecom industry regulatory commission in key areas such as interbank settlement and improving communication support services.

The discussions at the parley highlighted the importance of effective communication and efficient banking operations as vital components for advancing the country’s financial landscape.

Analysts believe that the NCC and CIBN’s collaboration will significantly improve the banking sector’s operations, ensuring that both entities work together to address challenges and leverage opportunities within the financial system for the benefit of the Nigerian economy.
